Directions and Parking

Part of One Block West's charm is that it is tucked away on a back street in Old Town Winchester, so that you have a sense of finding something special, your secret and nobody else's. The restaurant is located on Indian Alley, which runs parallel to and one block west of the Loudoun Street (Old Town) pedestrian mall and one block east of Braddock Street. We are located north of Wolfe Street and south of Boscawen Street, directly behind (west of) Patton's Furniture. Indian Alley is one-way from south to north, so you must enter the alley at either Cork Street or at Wolfe Street. If you have difficulty finding us, call us at 540-662-1455 and we will direct you.

Parking

We have the most parking of any fine dining restaurant in Winchester! For starters, there are about 6 spaces directly in front of the restaurant and we are within 75 yards of two public parking lots. During business hours, please do not park in the lots for the other businesses. At dinner, it is not a problem to park in the Patton’s Furniture lot or in the Harrison & Johnston lot just across the alley from One Block West.

Also, there are two paid public parking lots south of the restaurant on Indian Alley before you reach the restaurant: one on the right just before Wolfe Street and one on the right directly at the termination of Wolfe Street. There is paid on-street parking on Wolfe, Boscawen, Braddock and all the other surrounding streets. Parking fees are not collected after 5pm or on weekends. Parking fees, when collected, are trivial—twenty-five cents per hour—but the meters accept quarters only!

Finally, we have four public parking garages in Winchester, two on Kent Street, one on North Loudoun Street, and one on Braddock Street. The one closest to One Block West is the Braddock Street garage and it is open during dinner hours. The maximum fee for this garage is about a dollar. If you park there, walk out the side opposite the entrance and turn immediately right on Indian Alley. The restaurant is a block south of the garage on your right, across Boscawen Street.
