Chef for a Day Program

With the Food Network in everyone's home now, learning about restaurants and restaurant kitchens seems to be all the rage. We've had so much curiosity from customers about what really happens, that we created our Chef for a Day program in 2004. Since then, we've hosted dozens of guests in our kitchen.

We created a Chef for a Day gift certificate that you can purchase for $100 as a unique and memorable gift for that special someone in your life or even for yourself. This certificate entitles the recipient to work in our restaurant for a whole day, from 9am until we close at night.

On on One. You'll be in the kitchen working with award-winning Chef Ed Matthews and his crew. We only have one guest chef per day, so you'll have unlimited access to our staff.

Hone Your Skills. Rusty? Need a quick how-to on knife skills? How to skin fish? We'll work with you to show you what we know.

Learn, Ask Questions. You're right there with us and we'll answer any questions you may have. Any subject is fair game: accounting, finance, front-of-house, purchasing, receiving, cooking, menu planning, wine pairings, pricing, food safety, personnel.

Tailored to Your Needs. Before you arrive, you'll discuss with Chef Ed what you want to learn from the experience and we'll make sure we cover what you want to learn.

Free Food. We'll feed you! Maybe, if you're good enough, we'll let you cook your own dinner!
